A: The 2-phase motor has low cost, but the vibration at low speed is large, and the torque drops quickly at high speed. The 5-phase motor has less vibration, good high-speed performance, and is 30~50% higher than the speed of the 2-phase motor, which can replace the servo motor in some occasions.

2-phase and 5-phase stepper motors have the following differences:

1. Different structure: two-phase stepper motor: 8 main poles ‧ 4 phases; Five-phase stepper motor: 10 main poles, 5 phases.

2. The control accuracy is different: the step angle of the two-phase hybrid stepper motor is generally 3.6°, 1.8°; The step angle of five-phase hybrid stepper motor is generally 0.72°, 0.36°.

3. Different vibration: two-phase stepper motor in the field of 100-200pps low-speed resonance, the vibration is large, and there is no significant resonance point; Five-phase stepper motor is low vibration, speed-torque characteristics, high speed, high torque.

Here's how to choose:

1. If the control accuracy requirements are relatively high, you can choose a two-phase hybrid stepper motor.

2. If the vibration requirements are high, you can choose a five-phase stepper motor.

3. If the start-stop frequency requirements are high, you can choose a five-phase stepper motor.
