The step angle of common stepper motors is 1.8 degrees, 0.9 degrees, 0.45 degrees, 0.36 degrees, etc. Among them, 1.8 degrees is the most common stepper motor step angle, and it is also the most common one.

Taking the 1.8 degree stepper motor as an example, it is divided into 200 steps (360° ÷ 1.8° = 200) per revolution, so it is called a 200-step motor. The 1.8 degree stepper motor is generally used in applications that require high control accuracy and low speed, such as printers, CNC machine tools, looms, etc.

Step angle = 360° / number of phases / (number of polar teeth * 2)

The number of beats depends on the driver.

The step angle of the stepper motor is the rated pulse rotation angle of the stepper motor, which is determined by the number of phases, teeth and energization mode of the motor.NEMA 17 stepper motor with double shaft

Stepper motor is an induction motor, its working principle is to use electronic circuits, the direct current into time-sharing power supply, multi-phase timing control current, with this current to supply power to the stepper motor, stepper motor can work normally, the drive is for the stepper motor time-sharing power supply, multi-phase timing controller.

What is the step angle of a stepper motor? Can a stepper motor have two step angles?

In the case of non-overload, the speed of the motor, the position of the stop only depends on the frequency of the pulse signal and the number of pulses, and is not affected by the load change, when the stepper driver receives a pulse signal, it drives the stepper motor to rotate a fixed angle in the set direction, called "step angle", its rotation is a fixed angle step by step.

The step angle of the stepper motor is generally 1.8 degrees, there are also 0.9 degrees, and there are others, such as 0.45, 3.6, etc.
Through the subdivision pin of the stepper motor drive chip, the desired step angle is realized.

What is the symbol for the step angle? What is a step angle?

Corresponding to a pulse signal, the angular displacement of the motor rotor is represented by θ. θ=360 degrees (number of rotor teeth J * number of running beats), taking conventional two- and four-phase, rotor teeth are 50-tooth motors as an example. The step angle is θ=360 degrees / (50 * 4) = 1.8 degrees (commonly known as the whole step) when four beats are running, and the step angle is θ = 360 degrees / (50 * 8) = 0.9 degrees (commonly known as half step) when eight beats are running.
