Why is the stepper motor not selected according to the power? How to choose a stepper motor? On what parameters?

Why don't stepper motors say power? Why not prioritize power when selecting stepper motors?

0

Because of the new entry into automation, a stepper motor needs to be selected in a new project. But what makes me wonder is that whether I look up on the web or find agent information, I will give priority to its torque, step angle, voltage, or whatever, rather than power.

My idea is: aside from the voltage, the torque can be adjusted with a gear set; Step angle, if you consider the reduction ratio, in fact, can be mechanically subdivided, why should these be preferred? But the total power is not enough, then it will not be carried at all, is this not the most important problem?

Please give me some advice.

Why is the stepper motor not standard power?
On the general motor, many parameters are written.
Why are only some mechanical parameters written on stepper motors? There is no power marker. I didn't know where to start when I designed the power supply for it
Please help. Thank you.

Stepper motor power is not an important basis when choosing a motor, stepper motor most considered parameters are speed and torque, calculation should be from these two balance formulas to solve.

You should ask the manufacturer, with different loads and speeds, the power is also different, but there should be a maximum power. When designing the power supply, the power should not be lower than the maximum power

For stepper motors below 86, generally low-voltage motors, the range of users in selecting the working power supply voltage is relatively wide, such as choosing 57HS22 two-phase stepper motor, drive selection EZM852, if the user does not have high requirements for high-speed performance, the selected power supply voltage is 24VDC or 36VDC, if there are requirements for high speed, the power supply voltage will be selected to 48VDC, but the motor working current is generally set according to the rating of the motor. In this way, the torque output of the low-speed section of the same specification motor is basically the same, but the power consumed by the motor can be different. The selection of stepper motor is generally to first determine the installation size, and then select the length of the motor body (that is, the holding torque of the motor) according to the torque required at the highest speed and the torque-frequency curve of each motor, and finally determine the specific specifications of the motor.

Stepper motor due to its own characteristics, with the increase of speed, torque will gradually decrease, so stepper motor is not a constant power product, voltage, current, subdivision, speed, torque, etc. are the decisive factors for the application of stepper motor, so it is not selected by power.

Stepper motor only needs to explain two points, speed and torque, you can choose, there is no rated speed naturally there is no rated power.
