Is there any difference between I0.1 and M0.1 in Siemens PLC?

I0.1 and M0.1 have the following differences in Siemens PLC:

1. Different functions: I0.1 is an input point of PLC, which can be used as a storage bit of external input signals or only as a bit variable inside the PLC; M0.1 is a bit variable of the internal storage area of the PLC, which is commonly used as an intermediate variable.

2. The meaning is different: I represents the input point, M represents the internal relay.
